I was excited to see the most recent Make it Monday challenge over on Nicole Heady's blog this week. Just by coincidence, I had pinned a scrapbook page that she had done because of some beautiful stamped butterflies that had been decorated with Perfect Pearls, but had no idea how she did it. This week she showed us how!
I have had a set of 4 metallic Perfect Pearls for years and only knew how to make a mist a la Jennifer McGuire so far with it.
I really liked the technique of "lifting away" the pearl sheen and tried that first. I cut out my image panel and covered it with Versamark ink. I then applied the bronze-colored Perfect Pearls to the whole thing and wiped away the excess. I used two different leaf images from Leaf Prints to ink with Versamark and lift away the pearl. It is very pretty in real life, but hard to photograph.
My second card is a little more straight-forward. I used the Mat Stack 1 Collection to stamp an image and sentiment, then used my gold Perfect Pearls to color it.
I will share a third card using a two-toned approach tomorrow. It still requires a little tweaking.
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteBut on my monitor your card looks very good - so I am sure its stunning :)
Great cards, both. And great choices of stamps to use with this technique.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, great examples of this technique :)
